Whilst not the first time on Yorkshire soil since ‘that thing that stopped gigs’ happened, Friday’s show was met with a sense of a return to the good times.

Indeed, the band wasted no time in making it apparent they too were hungry for this. Their lifeblood, their natural habitat of the stage once more their platform to showcase why after over twenty years they are still very much a cut above their peers.

A confident and raucous blast through recent Night Network album cuts and fan-favourite deep dives into their discography, the gig felt more like a love letter to their history, a true vision of what this band really are and how strong their eight album oeuvre holds up when curating a touring set-list.

“We’d do a live album, if the money were right,” Ryan deadpanned.

I would gladly stump up the money myself if it meant I could re-live this moment again. Long live The Cribs.
