The Scottish indie rockers headline an evening of 2000s nostalgia at the West Yorkshire waterfront venue.

Tileyard North is a fantastic, and relatively, new site on the edge of Wakefield city centre featuring recording studios, content spaces, offices, events and more.

The waterfront venue is currently hosting a number of concerts and on Friday night it was packed as fans of The Fratellis turned out in force to see their favourite Scottish indie rockers.

It was a brilliant gig which was rapturously received but the three support acts also deserve acclaim.

After delightful sets from rising Liverpool stars The Cheap Thrills and Hertfordshire outfit The Subways, The Twang played a 45-minute set.

The much-loved Brummie band played many of their classics including Ice Cream Sundae, Back Where We Started, Either Way, Took the Fun, Two Lovers, Barney Rubble and Wide Awake before ending with the rabble-rousing Cloudy Room.

That set the tone perfectly for The Fratellis to take centre stage and what an atmosphere it was as they emerged to a raucous crowd.

Their biggest hit, Chelsea Dagger, remains iconic but do not overlook how many more fine tracks The Fratellis have to their name.

They worked their way through a high-energy set of classics, from Henrietta and Whistle for the Choir to the unexpected rendition of Yes Sir, I Can Boogie.

It was a performance to savour and of course they finished with Chelsea Dagger, bringing the house down at the end of an unforgettable night at this stunning live music venue.

Tileyard North was somewhere I had not visited before but after this experience I am already looking forward to returning.

On this evidence, it looks set to go from strength to strength as a outdoor music venue.
