It’s not long now until I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is back on our screens for the 2020 series, and for the first time in the history of the show, it’s not being shot in the Australian jungle.

Instead, contestants will be battling it out in a colder climate for King or Queen of Gwrych Castle, in Abergele, North Wales.

While the celebrities’ shorts and t-shirts will be replaced with thermals, producers are promising the show won’t be that much different to normal.

The star-studded line-up was recently revealed, and among the list of famous names is much-loved BBC Radio 1 presenter, Jordan North.

Viewers may be familiar with his voice from the radio, but we’ve taken a deeper look into the life and career of the York-born presenter.

Who is Jordan North?

Jordan North, 30, is known for his job as a Radio 1 DJ, with his show broadcasting from 11am-1pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

He was born in York but grew up in Burnley, Lancashire, which explains why he’s a die-hard Burnley FC supporter.

It seems Jordan was always destined for radio. He studied media production at the University of Sunderland, working on the university’s own radio station, Spark, alongside his course.

During his final university year he won Bauer Radio’s talent competition, securing his own Sunday show on The Hits Radio.

Jordan then landed a job at BBC Radio 5 Live as a researcher soon after he graduated, and he wormed away until he was awarded his current role as a popular Radio 1 presenter.

He’s a man of many talents - as well as broadcasting his radio show, Jordan is host of comedy podcast, Help I Sexted My Boss.

The presenter has a whopping 99,000 followers on Instagram where he shares a snippet of his life with his fans, including pictures of his day job at the BBC, snapshots of him eating, and even a post showing off his Burnley strip.

Apparently, his other passions include reading and enjoying a pint in the pub with his pals.

Despite being a well-known personality, Jordan manages to keep his love life private and it’s currently unknown whether he’s single or taken.

Jordan’s been watching I’m A Celeb since it started and he’s hoping his Radio 1 listeners will get behind him during his stint on the show.

He said: “I have got so many phobias and fears. I am worried I will let people down but I also want to give the trials my best go.”

Don’t worry, Jordan - we’ll be supporting you all the way.

Who are the other contestants?

Despite the unusual circumstances, I’m A Celeb has really pulled it out the bag with the 2020 line-up.

As well as Jordan North, there’s a host of familiar faces waiting to enter the Welsh castle:

Sir Mo Farah, Olympic gold medallist
