If you’ve ever seen one of Northern Ballet’s shows at Leeds Grand or the Playhouse you’ll have experienced the spine-tingling emotions come flooding through as their impeccable dancers and live orchestra bring to life the stories of Dracula, The Great Gatsby, Casanova or Swan Lake.

Now you have the chance to see those same dancers – the best dance-actors in the world according to Dance Europe magazine – up close in their home studio as they present an intimate new programme of short ballets, choreographed by international stars of the dance world.

Generations: Three Short Ballets features a world première from New York City Ballet Principal and TikTok sensation Tiler Peck. Described as ‘the most magical dancer of our time’ by Vanity Fair and the star of multiple Hollywood films, Peck has selected Northern Ballet as the first European company to cast her spell on.

“It is an absolute honour to be creating a new work for Northern Ballet. I have always admired Artistic Director Federico Bonelli’s work and was humbled when he asked me if I would make a new commission for the company” said Peck.

“This will be my first time choreographing for a European company and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with Northern Ballet’s incredibly versatile dancers.”

Peck shares the bill with a UK première by Royal Ballet star Benjamin Ella and an iconic work by one of the grand masters of contemporary ballet.

Adagio Hammerklavier was first created by Dutch dance legend Hans van Manen 50 years ago and is set to a beautiful piano sonata by Beethoven. It set the standard for contemporary ballet which the new generation will aspire to meet.
