PREVIEW: Rob Cowan to appear at Ryedale Festival

In partnership with Ryedale Book Festival, the North York Moors National Park will be welcoming award-winning local author, Rob Cowan, to The National Park Visitor Centre, Danby where he will be talking about his work at an event on Sunday afternoon.

“With the spectacular backdrop of the countryside, the Visitor Centre provides the perfect place for Rob to share his work,” says Sally Smith, Events and Exhibition Coordinator at the National Park. “We’re so pleased to be working with Ryedale Book Festival to bring this event to visitors and we are really looking forward to working together on future projects.”

Combining memoir, natural history and novel, Cowan’s book, Common Ground, offers an enthralling new way of writing about nature. “Anyone who marvels at the natural world is in for a treat and should not miss this opportunity to meet Rob and enjoy his stories in such a wonderful setting,” says Book Festival Director, Sarah Tyson. “We’re delighted to be working with the National Park The North York Moors are the perfect place for Rob’s event – right in the heart of the nature.”

Rob Cowan is an award-winning journalist and author. His first book Skimming Stones and Other Ways of Being in the Wild. won the Roger Deakin Award from the Society of Authors.
