And we're not just talking about the legendary subject of The Definitive Burt Bacharach Songbook coming to Sheffield City Hall, Saturday, August 27.

The man taking the spotlight to pay tribute centre stage, with his spiritual and smooth, soulful vocals, is the city's very own super talented musical star John Reilly and on this occasion performing with The Smooth Operators.

BUY TICKETS: Tickets are £25 (inc. service/booking fee. Purchase may be subject to handling and fulfilment fee - visit www.sheffieldcityhall.co.uk.

Atlantic recording artist John will have his Musical Director wing-man with him - overseeing this dazzling non-stop parade of classic songs is Canadian pianist and composer Lewis Nitikman.

Hand-picked world-class session players, who usually back artists such as Paul Carrack and Take That, will join him and female vocals will be elegantly performed by Rachel Raynor.

Together they celebrated the magical music of Burt Bacharach, who penned some of the most memorable and iconic hits of the 20th Century, that stand the test of time including Anyone Who Had A Heart, Walk On By, Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head, Close To You, 24 Hours From Tulsa, Do You Know The Way To San Jose, Alfie, I Say A Little Prayer, That’s What Friends Are For and more.

Hit after glorious hit.

This will be a sophisticated master class in melody, honouring the man behind hits for artists such as Dionne Warwick, Cilla Black, Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin, Elvis Presley, Gene Pitney, The Carpenters and others.

John's own recent single, LaLaLa (Bulletproof) was a huge success on national radio.

Now, following hugely successful concerts both in Sheffield and Liverpool, including re-opening Sheffield City Hall with a sold out show last September, Britain’s finest songwriters and session musicians are back with a show for all ages, friends and family.
