Our Yorkshire Pub Rescue with Jon Richardson: New series showcasing The Plough Inn at Fadmoor to air next month
A new TV series showcasing the rescue of a North Yorkshire village pub by its own community is set to air next month.
The first episode of Our Yorkshire Pub Rescue with Jon Richardson is set to air on February 4, and for the following three Wednesdays on More4 at 9pm.
The four-part series goes behind the scenes as the local community in Fadmoor look to save their pub, The Plough Inn.
The historic pub was bought by members of the local community in September 2024 with money from the Government’s Community Ownership Fund, which matched funds from local investors.
It had been closed for 14 years, and needs extensive work and extra investment. The programme shines a light on the work The Plough’s committee, volunteers from Fadmoor and the broader community are doing to bring the community pub to life - along with the help of comedian Jon Richardson.
The first episode sees the 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown star meeting The Plough’s committee and volunteers at the pub, helping with the demolition of the toilet block, as well as getting supplies for the hungry workers and fetching beer for the Investor and Supporter meeting where he meets the broader community.

Further episodes show the journey of the pub restoration as well as Jon Richardson getting to know the members of the village and committee members.
Peter Jones, Fadmoor Community Pub Limited Chairman said: “As you will see, there is a lot of work that needs to be done to renovate this derelict pub and to breathe fresh life back into the building.
“As we work on the building, we keep uncovering issues and so it is going to take a lot of time and money to return it to its natural place as the heart of this fabulous rural community.
“If you are inspired to come and help us with the renovation or would like to support us with a donation or to invest by purchasing shares please get in touch. Literally every penny counts and will make the difference to when we can open the pub doors.”
Filming on a second series of the show is set to start soon.
