Find Your Midlife Magic Makeover winners join Christine Talbot, Louise Minchin and celebrity hairdressers Andrew Barton and Robert Eaton at Rudding Park Hotel

The winners of the Find Your Midlife Magic Makeover competition winners are getting ready to meet celebrity hairdressers Andrew Barton and Robert Eaton at Rudding Park Hotel for a day of style.

Michelle Waterworth from Baildon, near Shipley, and Sally Gatie from Scarborough, were selected from all the entries for the competition, run in association with The Yorkshire Post, by event hosts and founders Christine Talbot, Bernadette Gledhill, Rachel Peru and Annie Stirk.

“It was really difficult to choose,” says Bernadette. “We laughed and cried as we worked our way through them all and made us realise how we all go through our middle years juggling many of the same things.”

Launched last year, the day-long event focuses on the challenges facing midlife women. Former BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin will join Christine to chat about carving out a new life as an author, freelance presenter and campaigner – as well as regularly taking on gruelling endurance challenges.

Other guests include Siobhan Daniels, AKA Retirement Rebel, who sold her possessions to hit the road in a motorhome, as well as Dr Jane Gilbert, who will answer questions on health challenges in midlife. There will be live on-stage panels for advice on hair and beauty with Andrew, Robert and the Harvey Nichols Beauty team.

Find Your Midlife Magic was created as a special and safe platform for women aged 45 and beyond, offering support and information in a fun, inspiring atmosphere, dealing with the myriad of issues related to the so-called middle years.

The organisers - model and fashion event organiser Bernadette, body image guru and model Rachel, TV personality/model Annie Stirk and former ITV Caldendar anchor Christine - have all faced their own midlife challenges and are looking forward to building on the success of last year’s event. They and their guests will address issues ranging from mental and physical health to image challenge, and discussions around the problems related to caring responsibilities, as well as grief and ageing.
