Summer fair raises hundreds for Skipton care home
Residents, families and local community come together for day of music, games and fundraising
Residents, relatives and members of the local community enjoyed a summer fair at a Skipton care home which raised almost £700.

Threshfield Court Care Home hosted the event in its grounds, welcoming visitors for an afternoon of games, live entertainment and refreshments.
Among those attending was the Mayor of Skipton, Councillor Winston Feather, who visited residents Carole Manley, a former Mayor of Skipton, and her husband John, a former Deputy Mayor.

Visitors enjoyed attractions including a hook-a-duck stall, a bottle tombola and a performance by Skipton's Loud Minority Samba Band. The home's catering team also served burgers and hot dogs from a barbecue.
Resident Alison Walker showcased and sold her own artwork during the event.
"I thoroughly enjoyed it," she said. "The weather was beautiful, there were lots of lovely people, and the staff did a fantastic job organising everything."
The fair raised £687, which will support activities for residents.

General Manager Ana Pantaleon thanked everyone who attended.
"We're committed to making Threshfield Court a hub for the local community, and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the day together," she said. "We're incredibly grateful for everyone's support, which helped make the event such a success."
Threshfield Court provides residential, nursing and dementia care in Skipton and regularly hosts community events to bring together residents, families and local people.
