Fortune favours those with the courage and vision to embrace the future, writes Greg.

The Yorkshire Post decided to act as a partner with Ward Hadaway in launching these awards because we have a shared belief in the courage, foresight and tenacity of Yorkshire’s fastest-growing companies.

Twelve years later, the awards have grown to become one of the most eagerly awaited events in the region’s corporate calendar.

They have attracted a glittering array of speakers over the years, including heavyweight political figures such as Sir Keir Starmer.

But the real stars of the show have always been the companies themselves. Many do not seek the spotlight. They are happy to quietly work towards their long term goals, bringing jobs and investment to every part of God’s Own County.

This year, Power Sheds, the Bradford-based shed manufacturer and retailer, has taken its place among the elite.

The company, which secured two awards, is making its debut on the Fastest 50 list. The business has enjoyed phenomenal growth as it makes the whole process of ordering a shed from delivery to construction as simple as possible. It’s a true innovator and market disruptor.

It takes drive and guts to keep growing your business when others are folding around you.

Vizion Network, a car repair and maintenance company, which pro- vides employment for almost 200 people, has also received a trophy this year. Its relentless commitment to delivering great customer service has seen its turnover rocket when others in the sector have stumbled.

Yorkshire’s manufacturing sector continues to prosper, despite soaring inflation and supply chain disruption.

Anybody studying the Fastest 50 list must be impressed by the diverse range of companies which have secured dramatic growth during a year of upheaval.

Retailers, manufacturers and professional services firms rub shoulders with technology firms.

Fastest 50 stalwarts, such as Hisense, which provides electronics, dishwashers and ovens to the UK market, sit alongside relative newcomers such as the craft beer company Brew York.

Every company on the Yorkshire Fastest 50 2023 list is a member of an exclusive club. They are the brightest and best in class who will surely inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs.
