West Yorkshire insurance firm Cogent Claims takes majority investment from Compare The Market owner BHL

Motor insurance claims business Inspire Claims has announced a rebrand to Cogent Claims after an investment by Compare the Market owner BHL Holdings Limited (BHL UK).

BHL UK’s business and investment portfolio includes motor legal services firm Minster Law, LEI provider Coral Insurance and next-generation telematics business ThingCo. BHL UK has taken a majority shareholding in the Yorkshire firm.

Cogent Claims is also moving from Leeds to Wakefield, where it will sit alongside Minster Law, which has its headquarters in the town.

Cogent CEO Matt Rawling said: “The multiplicity of issues in the motor market driven by supply chain and demand issues, advancement in vehicle technology and rising claims costs requires new thinking about how best to deliver the high-quality service customers require, but in a way which reflects the need to control rising indemnity costs.”
