Agricultural firm signs Swedish deal

East Yorkshire agricultural machinery importer Manterra has added products from the Swedish smallholding and forestry specialist Kellfri to its portfolio.

The Market Weighton-based firm has been appointed as one of only a small number of UK dealers for the long established Kellfri brand of agricultural, equestrian and forestry products.

Manterra will cover principally the M62 corridor, but can also arrange delivery to anywhere in the UK and Ireland.

Manterra’s Business Manager, Breege Kilfeather said: “We had been looking for a range that was suitable for smaller farms and small holdings, but which complemented our existing brands, including Unia, Trimble, APV Tand Duport. Kellfri, with its reputation for quality, innovative and value for money small scale machines, fits the bill perfectly.”

The firm’s products will be demonstrated during Manterra’s annual Open Days at Hessleskew Farm on May 23, 24 and 25.

Kellfri was founded by farmer Arne Kjellström in Bredöl, South West Sweden in 1952 and now enjoys a turnover of SEK 225 million (£20.4 million) and has subsidiaries in three countries.

Manterra Ltd was established by farmer and agronomist, Andrew Manfield in 2011 and has its foundations in a farming business that was established at the beginning of the last century.

Manterra is also the UK importer for the Baertschi strip till system.
