Christmas trimmings Edwardian style

A TEAM of volunteers, including Barbara Bolton, above, has set to work crafting home-made Christmas decorations to bring Nostell Priory, near Wakefield, to life for the holiday season.

Chris Blackburn, house and collections manager at the National Trust property, said: “To invoke the spirit of Edwardian times, our team of volunteers have been busy making garlands, models and decorations as there would have been in the house at the turn of the century.” The house is opening from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday.

It will be closed on Monday and Tuesday
but will open from 1pm to 4pm from Wednesday to Sunday next week. There
will be extra evening openings
from 5pm to 8pm on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. For more information go to www.nationaltrust.org.uk./nostell.
