CCTV released of man being sought over assault

Police have revealed CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault which left a man with potentially life threatening injuries.

It happened outside the Merchant Navy Club, Ferensway in Hull, at around 5.45pm on Monday. A 54 -year-old man remains in Hull Royal Infirmary.

Humberside Police believe he was approached by two men outside the club, assaulted and a bag containing two board games was stolen.

A 45-year-old man was arrested a short time later on suspicion of robbery. He has been released on police bail to a date next month, pending further enquiries.

However, the second man is yet to be identified.

Det Chief Insp Alan Curtis said: “This was an isolated incident. Luckily incidents of this kind are rare and we don’t believe there is any threat to the wider public.

“However, we are keen to track down this man so that we can eliminate him from our enquiries.”

He is described as white, tall, aged in his twenties or thirties, wearing a beige jacket, a long sleeved light coloured top with horizontal stripes and a dark coloured baseball cap.
