Cock O'The North victory on rider's second show outing
Renwick, who is Britain’s leading female show jumper, won a thrilling six-rider jump-off on Heliodor Hybris who is owned by her husband, John.
Essex-based 22-year-old Chloe Winchester produced the only other triple-clear to come second on Avoca Valkyrie while Shipley’s seven-time winner Robert Smith was third on Ilton. His chance was ruined when putting a pole down in the finale caused large gasps among a bumper crowd at the Great Yorkshire Showground who were treated to a thrilling feature event in warm evening sunshine. Renwick, 41, then shone brightest to bag the £8,000 first prize, with the Essex-based rider delighted that a rare visit to Yorkshire was more than worth her while.

I’m really pleased to be back here this year. The show has been amazing, the crowd has been fantastic and to get a win like this is the icing on the cake.”
Wrexham’s Robert Bevis finished fourth on Courtney Z while Durham’s Annabel Shields was fifth on Wet Wet Wet, ahead of Wiltshire’s Alfie Bradstock in sixth on KBIS Caicos.
