Traffic is passing the scene in lane one only. Approx. 4.5 miles of congestion on approach, with delays of 30 minutes above usual journey times.”

The lanes were reopened at around 8.30am, when there was still eight miles of congestion and delays of almost an hour, but they were expected to ease quickly.
