Two people have been charged with attempted murder after a 55-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Rotherham.

Paul Lyon, 46, and Toni Ackerman, 35, were charged last night with both attempted murder and also the robbery of a vulnerable young adult.

They have been remanded to appear at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court where they will appear this morning.

Emergency services were called to a property in Katherine Road, Thurcroft, at around 9.45pm on Tuesday October 27 following reports a man had been found injured in his home.

The 55-year-old was taken to hospital with multiple injuries and remains in a serious condition.

Police arrested a 46-year-old and a 35-year-old on Friday night.
