Rotherham United finalise their wishlist a for new striker
With one frontline forward in Jamie Proctor likely to be sidelined until April and the future of top-scorer Kieffer Moore up in the air with parent club Ipswich Town likely to recall him in the New Year, the Millers are busy making contingencies.
A shortlist of eight targets are now being considered, although the Millers chief acknowledges that signing top-quality frontmen in January is an onerous task.

Hide AdWarne, whose side are aiming to end a five-match winless streak at home to high-flying Wigan Athletic tomorrow, said: “Getting in a striker, with big shoes to fill, is a tall ask.
“Getting a striker in the summer is easier, you can get players on a season-long loan or ones who have run out of enthusiasm at their clubs or players out of contract and they are easy to pick up.
“But in January, if you are a striker who can walk straight and chew gum, then clubs will keep hold of them. Strikers are the hardest to prize away and overpriced. About a month ago I had 12 people I was targeting, now I am down to about eight, so I am hopeful that the two or three we bring in are right for the club.”
Meanwhile, Warne has confirmed that he will not be revisiting his interest in Forest Green striker Christian Doidge, who was a major target in the summer window.
