STEFAN Scougall’s first-half strike ensured a seventh straight win for Nigel Clough’s Sheffield United.

The Blades are now up to the safety of mid-table in League One just a matter of weeks after being in the relegation zone.

The Blades were rarely threatened in a scrappy game at Stadium MK, that saw the Dons play-off hopes dealt a blow.

Conor Coady’s through-ball sent Scougall clear of the Blades defence, and he coolly fired in from close range.

Clough said: “That’s how we’ve been playing. We could have had a second goal in the second half.

“In the second half, we played well enough to get one.

“After the hard work that we’ve asked from the players, today was at a different level.”
