Simon Weaver welcomes selection headache provided by Harrogate Town squad

SIMON WEAVER welcomes the selection headache provided to him by his Harrogate Town squad after two different-looking teams provided the Sulphurites with back-to-back wins.

After a vital 2-1 success over Hartlepool United last weekend, Weaver made 11 changes for Tuesday’s dramatic victory over Morecambe in the EFL Trophy.

The performances by the players given the nod in midweek has left the Harrogate boss with some tough decisions to make ahead of today’s meeting with Tranmere Rovers.

"It's a selection headache going into Saturday," he said.

"It's a good problem to have, knowing that some of the team from Tuesday night won't be playing and it's maybe harsh on them, but it was very important for me in terms of keeping everyone on their toes who played last Saturday and did so well.

"The supporters who came witnessed a really good footballing performance and it shows that there is a strength in depth there."

George Thomson could miss out after suffering a small hamstring strain against Morecambe.
