Barnsley beat former manager Keith Hill on their visit to Rochdale 1-0, defender Peter Ramage netting the all-important goal on 10 minutes. The Reds’ Conor Hourihane missed a late penalty.

Goals from James Coppinger and Nathan Tyson helped Doncaster Rovers beat Scunthorpe United 2-1. Rory Fallon had given the Iron a 24th minute lead.

In League Two, York City were held to a goalless draw at home to Portsmouth.
