York manager Nigel Worthington said: “I thought it was an excellent game of football for League Two with two very honest teams having a go at trying to win the game.

“We did create more chances than what they did but to be fair to their keeper he had a fantastic day where he stopped two or three dead certainties.

“But you’ve got to make the opportunities so I’m very pleased with the performance. The players have put a real shift in over the 90 minutes.

“We dealt with their threat very, very well and on a better day the ball might have bounced in for a winner for us.”
