York and Harrogate, who competed in the inaugural event, will be joined by East Riding. Leeds, Teesside and Sheffield in an event designed to give junior girl golfers a new platform on which to test their games.

York printing company Reprotech have continued their backing for the competition, which will have a Stableford format, with boys off the white tees, and girls off the reds with a three-shot adjustment.

York Union's outgoing president Neil Bellamy is looking forward to the event, one of the last he will attend in his position.

"Malton & Norton Golf Club kindly offered the use of their course for the day," said Bellamy.

"Whilst there will be fierce competition, I hope that it will also be a fun day for all."

The aggregate of the best scores for five girls and five boys will determine the winner among the six-player teams.

In the event of a tie, the remaining boy's and girl's scores will be added to determine the overall winner.

Last year's inaugural staging, at Bedale, ended in a thrilling 3-3 tie after Harrogate clawed their way back from 3-0 down.
