England second-row Jamie Jones-Buchanan strained a hamstring during Saturday’s 38-22 win in Perpignan while hooker Paul Aiton also suffered a dead leg.

The Papua New Guinea international was warming up to go back on in the closing stages against Catalans Dragons but coach Brian McDermott opted not to risk him given the busy Easter schedule is now looming.

Leeds captain Kevin Sinfield is the third player who will be hoping to be available for the trip to Wheldon Road having missed the last two games with his own hamstring problem.

Meanwhile, McDermott praised the resilience of his side after their victory in France took them to the top of Super League.

“It was a tough game but a great game,” he said.

“Catalans played really well and they had moments when they will have thought they were patchy as did we.

“But it was two teams who attacked very well and at times defended really well, too, so we are really pleased to get that win against a team that could have been very, very good if we’d not been so resilient.”
