I joined the Yorkshire Post in November 2024 as a North Yorkshire local democracy reporter covering taxpayer-funded bodies including North Yorkshire Council, York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority, the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority and the North York Moors National Park Authority.
I've been a journalist for around 20 years. After studying at Darlington College, I completed my training at the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph, before moving back north and working at The Northern Echo and Darlington and Stockton Times. More recently, I have run a hyperlocal news and publishing company.
I live in the Yorkshire Dales and have recently written a guidebook on Swaledale. I am an FA qualified football coach and help run my daughter's junior football team and volunteer at our local football grassroots club. I am also a trustee for a local charity which helps disadvantaged children.
