Established on a former pig farm belonging to JSR Farms Ltd., The Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School and Guest Accommodation was established in 2010 to provide a range of cookery and skills courses for all ages and skill levels, plus overnight accommodation.

Over the last decade, the school in Driffield has won multiple awards, including Food and Travel Magazine's prestigious Best Cookery School in 2020.

The school, the only one in East Yorkshire, has also welcomed guest chefs including Mary Berry, Michelin starred chef patron, James Mackenzie, and Chef Consultant, Steph Moon.

It is also a registered activity provider for the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Residential Award.

"Thanks to the spacious teaching kitchen and small class sizes, the cookery school was able to resume classes post lockdown and is now preparing for a busy festive period," said Alison Johnson, Yorkshire Cookery School's Business Development Manager, who has been with the school since its inception.

"Christmas is always a busy and exciting time at the Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School and we're delighted that we are able to host Covid compliant ‘Rule of Six' Christmas lunches and popular festive courses including Christmas with Steph Moon, A Yorkshire Christmas and Christmas cake decorating."

The cookery school's list of courses includes seasonal entertaining, international cuisine, specialist skills, fine dining and confidence in the kitchen, plus a range of bespoke classes, private functions, demonstrations and events for individuals, corporate clients, charities and networking groups.

The school supports local producers and businesses and works with James Mackenzie to run the Golden Apron competition to find Yorkshire's Best Young Chef.
