Booths posts strong Christmas trading figures and customer satisfaction levels

Booths increased it sales over the festive period with customer satisfaction at a record level.

The family-owned independent Northern supermarket - which has a branch in Ilkley, tracked like-for-like retail sales increase of 6.5 per cent over the key 3-week trading period.

Total revenue including B2B and wholesale sales increased by 4.3 per cent from 2020.

Customers planned and ordered early with significant increases seen in the number of Christmas pre-orders received in October and November.

- English wines, both still and sparkling, continue to track growth rising 4% from 2020 (+73% vs. 2019 sales)

- New product development and shoppers rediscovering the usefulness of the freezer saw frozen party food grow by +170%, frozen desserts +41% and poultry +14% vs. 2020.

- Champagne Sales rose by 21% vs. 2020.

- Sales of Artisan cheese rose by 17% vs. 2020.
