How Barnsley-based Bob's Business earned a place among tech sector's rising stars

A YORKSHIRE business which helps keep firms safe from cyber attacks has earned a place among the rising stars in its sector.

Tech Nation, the growth platform for UK tech scale-ups and leaders, has revealed that Barnsley-based Bob’s Business is one of the 22 cyber security companies selected to join its Cyber 2.0 growth programme.

The cyber programme aims to unlock the growth potential for early-stage cyber scaleups.

The programme is supported by partners CBRE, RSM, Talent Works International and Wilson Sonsini who bring their expertise and networks to Cyber 2.0.

Neil J Frost, head of cyber culture and engagement at Bob’s Business, commented: “We are excited to have the opportunity to develop our plans to scale the business both nationally and internationally.

"We have ambitious plans to take advantage of the growing education and awareness space that will require investment to increase the speed with which we can grow.

“The opportunities to network and seek advice from experts will place our business in a better position to promote a product that can impact the security industry and offer a solution to one of the largest security threats in cyber, the human element."

Bob’s Business provides cyber security awareness training courses to businesses, including phishing training and compliance courses.

The company was founded by Melanie Oldham, who has more than 15 years’ experience in the cyber security sector.
