Sheffield Hallam University forges new partnership with cyber security firm
The collaboration, which is the fifth of its kind in the UK, will aim to give more than 600 students across five courses the practical knowledge needed to navigate cyber security in a professional setting and address increasing cyber threats.
Check Point will use its SecureAcademy platform to equip Sheffield Hallam with cybersecurity educational content as well as offering industry-recognised certifications.

Hide AdShahrzad Zargari, principal lecturer and Cyber Security subject lead at Sheffield Hallam University said: “It is crucial that we nurture and develop cyber security experts who understand the expanding threat landscape and can proactively protect the organisations they work for.


"We want to give our students practical skills that are transferrable in the real world. Our collaboration with Check Point SecureAcademy offers them invaluable expertise and insights that reflect the reality of a multi-vendor environment. It will streamline their transition from students to cyber security leaders after graduation and beyond.”
Sheffield Hallam University holds a position within the York Cyber Security Cluster, which is part of a broader initiative aimed at fostering collaboration and innovation in cyber security.
According to Check Point Research, an average organisation in the UK has experienced 936 attacks per week in the last six months.
