Doors to The Golden Lion in York are set to reopen after an autumn renovation including new signage.
The renovation of the popular The Golden Lion pub in York marks a new chapter for the historic pub.
The Greene King pub on Church Street, close to the famous Shambles, is popular with local residents and tourists alike.

There is new signage and décor outside the 18th century pub to boost the kerbside appeal while the pub’s interiors have been redecorated with refreshed flooring, lighting and furnishings to create a warm, welcoming space for friends, families and groups of all sizes.
The all-weather roof garden continues to be a popular feature for customers wanting alfresco drinks and dining in the heart of York city centre.
General manager of the Golden Lion, Jo Wray, said: “This is such a brilliant pub that has been serving customers for hundreds of years, and it is great to be open again ready for the festive season which is just around the corner.
“The works have sympathetically blended its age-old features with modern-day comforts, and we continue to serve good food and drinks for all occasions, diets and appetites.
“We are here for customers looking for a refreshing, much-needed drink after sightseeing or after-work drinks and catch ups, to a leisurely meal or enjoying one of our not-to-be-missed Sunday roasts.
“We have plenty of entertainment lined up with live music and DJ nights as well as all the action on Sky Sports and TNT Sports.
