A spokesman for Askew Brook said: "Last week the Government announced that pubs could open on July 4 but it is likely they will have to keep a record of which customers visited and at what time to help with the Government’s track and trace programme"
Richard Askew, managing director of Askew Brook said, “The tourism industry has been hit very hard and although pub owners are happy they can open again, they have been asked to comply with these requirements in a very short space of time.
"It will take up a lot of staff time and make it difficult to maintain social distancing, we’ve built something that will allow the customer to sign-in themselves so the staff can get on with running a pub in a tough environment.”
Askew Brook is offering the platform free of charge for pubs in Scarborough for the next three months.
Mr Askew continued: “We’d love it if other companies or organisations could sponsor other towns and allow us to provide this at no cost to as many of our pubs as possible”.
