No.1 by GuestHouse in York has been voted as one of the best hotels in the UK in Conde Nast Traveller’s Readers’ Choice Awards for 2024.

GuestHouse Hotels has announced that No.1 by GuestHouse in York has been featured in Conde Nast Traveller’s Readers’ Choice Awards for 2024.

The City of York was voted as one of the top 10 cities in the country and No.1 by GuestHouse, York is the only hotel in the city to receive the award.

This hotel, which is a Grade II Listed Regency townhouse, is located in the centre of York and is just a 10-minute walk from York Minster.

It is characterised by sash windows, high ceilings, a sweeping central staircase and an ivy-covered front-facing building. The boutique hotel’s 38 bedrooms are spread across three floors and Pearly Cow restaurant serves locally sourced produce from land and sea, along with afternoon tea in The Marmalade Lounge.

There is also an offering of carefully crafted cocktails served at The Bar and a pantry stocked full of treats as well as a spa cocooned within the arches of the cellar.

Hotel manager, Anthony Killip, said: “We are delighted to have been recognised by our guests and received this distinction in Conde Nast Traveller.

“It’s a testament to our team’s passion and the incredible support of our community and guests. We will continue in our mission to make every visitor feel at home in our wonderful city.”
