Pathways Productions New Film

After 20 years at looking at the Calderdale area,Pathways latest film which will be released on November 1 on our website www.pathwaysvideo.co.uk is an aerial look at many towns and villages in Kirklees along with historical facts about each village.

Long time producer and cameraman Peter Thornton has reverted to be the script writer and presenter and along with his wife Judith and drone operator Mark Sykes have come up with a new look at Kirklees.

Beginning at Castle Hill near Huddersfield and enjoying the great views from this landmark we then have a look inside the magnificent Town Hall in Huddersfield before flying around the town calling at the Parish Church, the Byram Arcade and St George Square at the railway station.

Almondbury is just 2 miles away and is one of the oldest and prettiest of the villages dominating the edge of the Pennine moors, Hartshead and Cleckheaton are next on the aerial trip with a great view of the motorway service station and Oakwell Hall.

Dewsbury with it’s medieval Minster and impressive Town Hall is followed by Golcar and the villages of Milnsbridge and Longwood with the huge rail viaducts shown from above.

The Huddersfield Narrow Canal leads us to Slaithwaite being the only town in Britain to have a canal running down its main street.

Scammonden and Dean Head reservoirs in the north of Kirklees look beautiful from the air and a lovely walk around the waters edge before we fly to the giant Holme Moss mast near Holmfirth a town noted for “Last of the Summer Wine”

Our next village is Honley which is full of historic buildings and finally Marsden and the Standedge Canal Tunnel before flying back to Castle Hill and the ending.
