Battle joined against homophobia

MORE than a dozen Doncaster schools have made a joint effort to put an end to homophobic bullying and increase support for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) young people.

The Educate with Pride event, hosted by Doncaster Pride at The Dome, is the first of its kind in Doncaster.

The town’s mayor Ros Jones gave a speech at the event which aims to end homophobic bullying through educating residents

She said: “I am delighted to see local schools coming together with Doncaster Pride to take the initiative and organise a ground-breaking conference like this.

“ I am 100 per cent behind the efforts to end homophobic bullying and make Doncaster a truly friendly, safe and accepting place.”
