Open Afternoon: Harrogate Grammar students give an inside look at Sixth Form life

This event will give prospective students a great insight into the culture of the Sixth Form and a chance to see the facilities on offer. Ahead of the application deadline of February 9, Tess Easthaugh, current Head Student of Harrogate Grammar School, interviewed students for a short video featuring the most frequently asked questions regarding Sixth Form life and learning – watch the film above.
She said: “I hope the video helps any future students thinking of applying to get an insight into sixth form life and that it helps answer any questions they might have before making their decisions.’

Students will need to know the following ahead of completing their application form:
Course types. With a mixture of A Level, Btec, additional and enrichment courses available, it is important to think carefully about which combination of subjects fits best with current academic performance and future plans. Entry requirements for their chosen subjects. It’s important that students familiarise themselves with what is required as minimum entry and also course specific. Each applicant will be supported in finalising their subject choices through a coursing discussion with an experienced member of our Sixth Form Team after the application has been submitted.
Personal statement. Students will have to provide a short personal statement which has been broken down into four short sections about you, what you are interested in, why you have chosen those areas of study and ideas for the future.
