Four new coronavirus deaths in Yorkshire as county total approaches 3,000

A total of four new coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Yorkshire.

According to latest figures, the death toll in the county now stands at 2,971.

A death in Leeds hospitals was among the daily figures released on Thursday (Oct 1).

The total number of deaths in Leeds hospitals is now 346.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust and South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust all recorded a single new coronavirus death in the latest update.

NHS England publishes the number of patients who have died in hospital and tested positive for COVID-19 in England.

Since Tuesday, April 28, NHS England and NHS Improvement also reports the number of patient deaths where there has been no COVID-19 positive test result, but where COVID-19 is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death on part 1 or part 2 of the death certification process.
