Entire countries are on lockdown, the elderly are having to isolate themselves for days on end and panic buying has seen supermarket shelves stripped of essentials.
In these unprecedented times, it is more important than ever that we at The Yorkshire Post continues to provide you with the same high-quality, informative journalism we have done for the last 266 years.

To this end, we've set up a Facebook group just for the people of Yorkshire to act as an online community hub in these trying times. If you know a business who is helping out in the community, a volunteer heading to the shops for vulnerable people, or simply want to help in anyway you can, you can use this group to connect with people in your area.
We'll also be posting all the latest Government advice on health and travel, as well as the latest stats and news surrounding the pandemic, to keep you informed.
The Government has used the phrase 'social distancing' in its bid to try and stop the spread of coronavirus - but that doesn't mean you can't pick up the phone and contact your friends, family or anyone who might feel isolated. As our editor recently said: "Loneliness kills, too." So click here to join the group, support your community and, most importantly of all, stay safe.
