Total of 58 new Covid deaths recorded in Yorkshire

A total of 58 new Covid deaths have been recorded in Yorkshire - as the total nears 5,000 in the region.

Deaths were recorded where a patient either tested positive for Covid-19 or where no positive test result was received for Covid-19, but Covid-19 was mentioned on their death certificate.

NHS England releases updated figures each day showing the dates of every coronavirus-related death at hospitals in England, often including previously uncounted deaths that took place several days or even weeks ago.

In total, 58 new deaths were recorded in the update released on Friday December 4.

The death toll in Yorkshire now stands at 4,977.

A total of 597 people have now died from the virus in Leeds hospitals.

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 2

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust: 4

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 2

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 8

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust: 3

Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust: 11

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust: 4

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust: 10

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 5

South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust: 2

York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust: 2
