With the Yorkshire Marathon on this weekend, we know plenty of people will be looking for a well deserved pint in York city centre after the race.
Here’s a selection of some of the best and most historic pubs in York where you can treat yourself after finishing your incredible run, or to wait and watch as the runners come in.

9. Three Cranes, St Sampsons Square
The Three Cranes is a traditional pub in every sense and was built in the mid-18th Century, although it was refurbished in the 1930s.

10. Gert & Henrys, Jubbergate, The Market
Located in a timber-framed Tudor building from the 1600s, Gert & Henry's is right next to the busy York Market.

11. Lendal Cellars, Lendal
Lendal Cellars is a 13th Century building which one housed a famous library, and is another pub that is said to be haunted.
