Hunting for them was enjoyable and while the couple invested heavily in some elements, including the stylish Odin wood-burning stove with a backdrop of brick slips and the furniture, much of which is from Barker and Stonehouse, other pieces include great finds.
The industrial lights were found by the side of a skip and are now hung from the sitting area ceiling.
“I asked the workmen on the site if I could take them and they said ‘yes’ and I took them home and sprayed them and I’m really pleased at how they turned out,” says Jane.

Hide AdShe also came up with the idea of using reclaimed, rusted corrugated metal sheets to create a feature wall in the hall, upon which she hung some cow horns from a friend’s mother’s farm.


The flooring is wood throughout and the new kitchen is simple and stylish and the contrast of the rustic tiles works brilliantly.
“The tiles are from Nick Firth Tiles in Sheffield, he has some great industrial pieces,” says Jane, who is now selling to downsize.
