Omaze Yorkshire house: Idyllic £2.5m Yorkshire house up for grabs in latest Omaze prize giveaway

The latest Omaze prize draw has been announced - and it is giving people the chance to win this incredible £2.5m home in Yorkshire.

The 18th-Century Georgian property sits in the idyllic Ryedale area and boasts six bedrooms, acres of gardens, a spa pool and state of the art equestrian facilities.

The home is being raffled off as part of Omaze’s regular prize draws, which means people can win the stunning property for as little as £10.

The prize draw is raising funds for Mencap and is being supported by Yorkshire’s very own Doctor Who Jodie Whittaker.

The property comes mortgage-free, with all stamp duty and legal fees covered. The winner is also given £250,000 in cash to help them settle in. They can decide to either live in the house, rent it out for a supplementary income or sell it whenever they wish to become a cash multi-millionaire.

A local estate agent estimate the property could achieve a long-term rental value of between £6,000 and £7,000 a month.

A release by Omaze said: “Located in the desirable district of Ryedale, the property is an outstanding example of Georgian architecture, surrounded by countryside and set in a commanding position with spectacular views across the Vale of Pickering.

“The stunning house has been exquisitely renovated to the highest standards, whilst still maintaining its historical character. The result is a harmonious blend of original period features such as decorative plaster work, architraves and exposed beams - all flawlessly combined with modern luxuries and conveniences.”

Alongside an impressive entrance hall and staircase, the ground floor of the property has spacious and light-filled living rooms, window seats and heated flooring. The kitchen features a Butler sink with Quooker tank, marble topped island with breakfast bar and a five oven Aga cooker.

Adjacent to the kitchen are several store rooms including a traditional pantry with stone slab shelving, while there is also an ample dining room.

Upstairs, there are four bedrooms and four bathrooms, all furnished with high quality fixtures and fittings. The second floor is home to a loft paartment with its own kitchenette, sitting room, two bedrooms and another bathroom.

Outside next to the large terrace is a heated exercise and spa pool which takes in the stunning surroundings of the North York Moors countryside.

From the pool, the winner will also be able to gaze upon their very own orchard, dotted with apple, pear, plum, green gage and walnut trees. There are also 15 acres of gardens, electric gates, a four-bay car port and doubel garage, as well as extensive equestrian facilities.

These include a stable block with eight loose boxes, two foaling boxes, a wash bay and tack room. There are ten individually fenced paddocks with five rail timber posts amounting to around 11 acres in all. There is also an L-shaped shed with two bay open barn and two timber stables.

The home is situated in a hamlet, but Pickering is just five miles away and the nearby Kirkbymoorside has a good mix of shops, cafes, pubs and a primary school. Dalby Forest s just 12 miles away, with Scarborough around 20 miles away from the property.

Jodie will be performing in The Duchess at the Trafalgar Theatre from October 2024. She said: “The last time I was on stage was 12 years ago - I remember so clearly turning up for rehearsals with wobbly legs having just run the London Marathon for Mencap. I'm really excited to be back."

Omaze has guaranteed a minimum donation of £1 million from the partnership.
