Art gallery invites contest entries

HUNDREDS of pounds worth of prizes are up for grabs in one of the area's most prestigious arts competitions.

Entry forms are now available for both amateur and professional artists who wish to submit work for next year's Ferens Art Gallery's open exhibition in Hull.

The popular annual showcase opens on Saturday February 12.

The organisers say people can collect forms and guidelines from the gallery's reception desk.

"The Ferens Art Gallery and the selectors are looking forward to receiving entries from not only well-established and popular artists but new and emerging talent."

She added: "It also offers the chance for visitors to buy an original work of art at reasonable prices."

There is an entry fee of 3 and 1.50 (concessions) for each piece of work submitted and as many as three works can be entered.
