David Miliband’s dreams stay secret

The former Foreign Secretary was in Leeds yesterday performing a question and answer session with students from the city’s two universities.

Speaking after the event he told the Yorkshire Post that challenging the Government’s NHS reforms and tackling youth unemployment were two of the main issues facing the Labour Party.

He refused to be drawn on whether he would ever return to the front bench of the party or on how often he speaks to his brother, Labour leader Ed Miliband about politics.

He said that the next General Election was wide open and could be won by anyone.

The MP for South Shields insisted Labour should be proud of much of its record including the introduction of the minimum wage and the expansion of higher education.
