Failing trust to recruit more foreign nurses

A FAILING hospital trust is hoping to recruit more foreign nurses after drafting in 22 from Spain.

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, which was placed in special measures in July, will launch a second recruitment drive with the agency Search later this month.

It had about 120 vacancies last month and fills any gaps on its rota with bank and agency staff.

“It is very difficult to find work in Spain,” said Aldo Alia Casado, 26, who will be among the new nurses starting on Monday.

The Royal College of Nursing has urged the trust to do more to recruit locally.
