Guides sign petition against altered images

Selin Parlak, 14, from Surrey, signs a petition calling for the compulsory labelling of airbrushed images during the Girlguiding UK's 'Fusion' event in Leeds.

Hundreds of youngsters attending the centenary celebrations at Harewood House gave their support yesterday to the campaign calling on the Government to introduce compulsory labelling on 'touched-up' pictures in magazines.

Lauren Fletcher, an 11-year-old Guide, said: 'I think it's because people in magazines are made to look different when that's not really how they look and it might make people uncomfortable about themselves.'
