The Great Yorkshire Show is about more than just farming, it’s a celebration of a way of life

The Great Yorkshire Show is about more than just agriculture. It is a celebration of a way of life that transcends even international boundaries.

As visitors from across the country congregate at the showground in Harrogate, it is worth reminding ourselves of how lucky we are to be home to some of the greatest expanses of countryside on the planet.

The show highlights the rich diversity that exists in rural communities from young and old to landowners to farmhands, everyone united by their love of all things countryside. It is also often graced with a royal presence.

The significance of the Great Yorkshire Show is not lost on the people in the region. It was greatly missed when the pandemic ground everything to a halt. The whole of Yorkshire will be hoping for another successful edition. Hopefully the sun also shines on the show over the next four days and for many more years to come.
