Hedgehog charity’s £2,000 spike in donations after reader appeal – Yorkshire Post Letters
A GREAT thanks to your readers from the team at Hedgehog Emergency Rescue in Bingley for their response to our recent story in the newspaper.
We raised £2,000 from The Yorkshire Post article that appeared a few weeks ago in your publication.
There were many compliments about the piece from people who rang, messaged and emailed us.
I should probably congratulate the Royal Mail too as they managed to deliver a letter from a lovely lady who sent a fabulous card to us, but who only wrote Hedgehog Rescue, Bingley, near Leeds, on the envelope. Thank you again to the postal staff for making sure that the letter reached us.
The messages we received complimented the raising of awareness about how Covid has impacted not for profits in hidden ways.
I’m forever grateful to the public, whether they just rang to raise our spirits or made donations.
Heather Hawker, our volunteer who was photographed, also received many compliments.
The hedgehog featured in the article needing hydrotherapy is almost ready for release.
He’s done fantastically well.
