Recycling provides artistic inspiration

ARTIST Suzie Gutteridge yesterday unveiled a new installation at Sheffield's Millennium Gallery, made entirely from more than 3,000 cardboard coffee cups.

The piece, called 'Clandestine New Life', is a delicate, ornamental paper tree 'grown' from recycled materials. Ms Gutteridge said: 'Clandestine New Life highlights the casualness with which we use our natural resources and strives to demonstrate that even the most throwaway of items, the takeaway coffee cup, can still have a valuable and even beautiful purpose.'
