Roadworks: Delays warning

Roadworks have been announced for the Yorkshire region over the period Monday December 7 to Sunday December 13.

But they could be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Affected roads are as follows:

M1 Junction 30 Chesterfield to Junction 31 Worksop - The southbound side of the motorway will also be reduced to a single lane overnight for four nights from Monday December 7. The northbound entry and exit slip roads at junction 31 will be closed overnight on Tuesday December 8. The northbound entry slip road at junction 30 will be closed overnight on Monday 7 December. The southbound entry and exit slip road at junction 31 will be closed overnight on Wednesday 9 December. The southbound exit slip road at junction 30 will be closed overnight on Monday 7 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 Junction 32 Thurcroft to Junction 35a Stocksbridge - The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme. There will be narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit until the project is completed in winter 2016. The northbound side of the motorway will also be reduced to a single lane overnight on Tuesday 8 December and then again for two nights from Thursday 10 December. The southbound side of the motorway will also be reduced to a single lane overnight for three nights from Monday 7 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 Junction 39 Denby Dale to Junction 42 (M62 interchange) - The hard shoulder is currently closed in both directions as part of the smart motorway scheme and a 50mph speed limit in place until the project is completed in winter 2015. The southbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 39 and 40 overnight on Saturday 12 December. The southbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 41 and 42 overnight on Monday 7 December and then for a further two nights from Thursday 10 December. The northbound carriageway will be closed between junctions 41 and 42 overnight for two nights from Tuesday 7 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 Junction 38 to Junction 39 Denby Dale - The southbound slip road will be closed at junction 39 with a single lane on the southbound side of the motorway for carriageway repairs for four nights from Monday 7 December. The southbound side of the motorway will be closed between the slip roads at junction 39 for carriageway repairs overnight on Friday 11 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M1 Junction 36 to 37 Barnsley - The southbound entry slip road at junction 37 will be closed with a single lane on the southbound side of the motorway overnight for 6 nights for resurfacing work from Monday 7 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M18 Junction 3 Doncaster - The east bridge at junction 3 will also be closed overnight for bridge works from Monday 7 December until Christmas, preventing access to the southbound M18 from the A6182. A diversion will take drivers on the northbound carriageway up to junction 4 and then back on the southbound carriageway. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.

M18 Junction 5 to Junction 6 Ings - The northbound side of the carriageway will be reduced to a single lane for bridge works overnight for three nights from Wednesday 9 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.

M62 Junction 22 Saddleworth to Junction 23 Huddersfield - The eastbound side of the carriageway will be reduced to a single lane for three nights from Monday 7 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.

M62 Junction 29 Lofthouse Interchange - The westbound side of the motorway will be closed between the slip roads at junction 29 for carriageway repairs for six nights from Monday 7 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M62 Junction 25 Brighouse - The westbound side of the carriageway will be closed between the slip roads at junction 25 overnight for two nights on Monday 7 December for bridge works. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M62 Junction 37 Howden - The westbound side of the carriageway will be closed between the slip roads at junction 37 overnight on Thursday 10 December for carriageway repairs. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M62 Junction 26 Bradford (M606 interchange) - There will be narrow lanes and a 30mph speed limit in place until a project to add an extra lane to the roundabout at the junction is completed in autumn 2016. The slip roads and roundabout will be reduced to a single lane overnight, between 7pm and 6am, from Monday 7 December for five nights.

M621 Junction 4 Hunslet - The clockwise exit slip road at junction 4 will be closed overnight for works to the railway from Tuesday 8 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

M621 Junction 0 to Junction 3 Staygate - The southbound side of the carriageway will be fully closed overnight for five nights for resurfacing works from Monday 7 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A1M Junction 35 to Junction 36 Marr - The southbound side of the carriageway will be closed overnight from Tuesday 8 December for two nights for barrier works. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A61 Tankersley - The A61 Tankerlsey north bridge will be reduced to a single lane for five nights from Monday 7 December for bridge works. Drivers will be led through the roadworks by a contractor’s vehicle in convoys at 10mph. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am.

A61 Tankersley - The A61 will be closed in both directions between Westwood roundabout and McDonald’s restaurant for roundabout improvement work from Monday 7 December for four nights. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A61 Westwood to Tankersley - Overnight resurfacing work will take place on the A61 between Westwood and Tankersley for four nights from Monday 7 December. Drivers will be led through the roadworks by a contractor’s vehicle in convoys between 8pm and 6am. The eastbound and westbound side of the A road will be closed between Westwood and Tankersley for resurfacing works from Friday 11 December for two nights. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A64 Towton to Bramham - The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight for four nights from Monday 7 December for carriageway repairs. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A64 Brambling Fields to Pickering - The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight for five nights from Monday 7 December for carriageway repairs. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A64 Headley Bar to Bramham - The eastbound exit slip road at Headley bar will be fully closed overnight for three nights for carriageway repairs from Friday 11 December. The eastbound side of the A road will be closed overnight for two nights for carriageway repairs from Friday 11 December. The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am, and drivers will be able to follow clearly signed diversion routes.

A180/A160 Immingham, Humberside - There will be narrow lanes on the A180 and A160 along with a 50mph speed limit while work takes place to improve access to the Port of Immingham, including upgrading the A160 to a dual carriageway. There will be a full closure eastbound and westbound side of the A road from Brocklesby to Stallingbrough overnight on Friday 10 December. The project is due to be completed in autumn 2016. The westbound exit slip road and eastbound entry slip road at Brocklesby Interchange will be closed until August 2016.
