Two men killed in separate fatal road collisions in North Yorkshire over the weekend

Two men have died in separate road collisions on North Yorkshire's roads over the weekend, police have said.

The first occurred yesterday evening (Saturday) when a red Lexus coupe crashed on the A61 travelling in the direction of the village of Skipton-on-Swale at around 9.20pm.

The 60-year-old male driver was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A second collision occurred near Ripon in the early hours of this morning when a white Transit van crashed on Kirkby Road between Sutton Grange and Azerley at around 3am.

The van was travelling towards Ripon at the time.

Sadly, the 26 year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

North Yorkshire Police are now appealing for any witnesses or people with information on either collision to get in touch.

Officers are also keen to speak to any drivers who may have dashcam footage from around the area at the time which could help provide information on either collision.
